Do you have a picture of the mechanism? They both work good, just don't bite off more than you can chew. There are quick connects on the back of the tractor for the cylinder but those are after the valve.

May I ask what brand of tractor it is? From what I've seen they can be really expensive. When diagnosing an issue, or showing off your tractor or implement, it's important to add images so we all know what you're talking about. In my estimation, that alone is worth something. If you've ever had an implement on it that has hydraulics, I would think that would be an indication of how fast you could expect the ram on a splitter to move.

It's there to power hydraulic equipment that has it's own valve. You do not need to bleed hydraulic systems on tractors. Besides being the easiest to hold the valve open with a bungee cord technically a no-no it has the better flow rate and usually the bucket dump is restriced to keep the dump limited to a safe speed.

If you have the single lever control valve like me then it has power beyond capability. But for real flexibility a stand alone unit like Chief's is best.
